Antalis recognises the concern about the paper industry's impact on the environment and are committed to sustainable timber use, reducing pollution and eliminating waste as well as working with our suppliers to ensure Sustainable Forest Management. Forests have been increasing constantly in Europe over at least the last 20 years. Cepi calculate that the increase is 6400 km2 per year, equivalent to 4300 football pitches per day. .

Therefore it is important that forest governance is in place to protect and develop the forest, through assurance of legal supply. Two such forest certification schemes are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Programme For The Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).

The Antalis group not only has 26 countries certified to these schemes but also offers paper with both certified and recycled environmental credentials.

The Paper Industry is also one of the most responsible supply chains being one of the few truly renewable and recyclable raw materials we have.

The European paper industry has a current voluntary commitment is to reach a 66% recycling rate by 2010 (Cepi, 2008). (Please note - 19% of recycled paper is non collectable)
